# Tips

## Setup - Miscellaneous Setup

You can register in the application the tips received and calculate them manually or by a percentage automatically.

To use Tips, you must first have a Payment Method of type **Tip**, and then activate the use of Tips in this screen. 

If you want the Tips to be automatically charged on the sale, select **Automatic Calculation.** 

In this case, you have some configuration options:

* ***Payment method:*** Select the Payment Method of the Tip type, to which the automatically charged Tips will be assigned.
* ***Percentage:*** Enter the percentage that will be charged as a tip.
* ***Tip/Gratuity calculation method:*** You will have to decide if the percentage is calculated on the total without taxes or with taxes already calculated.
* ***When are gratuities charged?:*** You can choose whether to charge Tips In all tickets or Only on table sales.
* ***Number of guests to charge gratuities:*** You can set the minimum number of diners that must be at a table to be charged automatically.
* ***Maximum warning rate:*** In the case that the tip entry exceeds this percentage of the total sale, a warning will be displayed to confirm the tip entry.

Here is an example configuration, with **automatic** tip calculation, which charges **10%**, **after tax,** only when **tables** with a minimum of **2 diners** are used.

It is possible to activate the printing of the suggested gratuity on the receipt by entering different percentages. A free message can be displayed followed by the suggested tip totals.
