## Setup - Miscellaneous Setup

Before finalizing a sale, you can **apply a discount** to the sale total. You can also apply discounts automatically to **special customers**. Before you can use Discounts, you must create them.

In this screen, you will **add the Discounts**. If you want to edit/delete existing discounts, double tap on them.

Here you can **enter the data** for the new discount:

* ***Code:*** By default, the system generates a sequential code, which can be changed as long as it is unique.
* ***Name:*** Here you must enter the name of the discount.
* ***Discount Type:*** The discount can be applied as a Percentage or as an Amount. The amount can be discounted before or after calculating the taxes.
* ***% Discount or Amount Discount:*** Depending on the discount type selection, enter the value in the corresponding field. If you want to apply a surcharge, you must enter the value with a negative sign.
