Preparation Areas are used when we have to send orders for the items we are selling to be prepared on a production printer, such as in the kitchen.
Here, you can define different Preparation Areas so that items are sent to the right place for each of them.
The first step is to define if you are going to work with preparation areas to assign them to the items. Click the button to activate/deactivate the preparation areas.
Here, you will be able to enter the data for the new preparation area:
Code: By default, the system generates a sequential code, which can be changed as long as it is unique.
Name: Here you enter the name of the preparation area.
Kitchen printing type: Here you must define the type of printing in kitchen: One receipt per order or One receipt per item.
Text size: Here you define the text size of the receipt for this group: Normal size or Big size.
Print prices: Here we select whether the receipt in this group will be printed with the price.
Print header & footer message: Here we select whether the receipt in this group will print header and footer.
Kitchen Printers: Here you select to which kitchen printer the items in this group will be sent. It is also possible to choose more than one, so that a production receipt including this item will be printed on each of the selected printers.
In this example, you can see that all Items assigned to the preparation area Food will be sent to Kitchen Printer 2.
You can create as many preparation areas as you wish. For example, drinks can be sent to Drinks and the rest of the dishes to be prepared, meat, fish, pizza, pasta, etc., can be sent to Food.
Once you have defined that there are Production printers, the functionality to manage the preparation areas will be enabled. Return to the previous screen and press the button.
In this screen we will add the preparation areas. Click the button to add a new preparation area. If you want to edit/delete the existing preparation area, long press on them.
